Biography of Joe Tom Zhanel

Telico, Texas

Joe Tom Zhanel was a private first class in the U.S. Army. He served in the 175th Infantry, 29th Division. He died on February 23, 1945 from wounds. He is buried in The Netherlands American Cemetery at Margraten, The Netherlands.  

Joe was awarded three Purple Heart Medals. He is listed on the Memorial Monument to Ennis War Dead and the Ellis County Veterans Memorial.
