Ted, Marjorie and Loyd George in San Diego

When Ted Curby graduated Baylor University College of Medicine in Houston, Texas on March 13, 1944, he was a commissioned lieutenant (j.g.) in the U.S. Navy Reserve. His Interne appointment was to the U.S. Navy Hospital in San Diego, California.

Following graduation, Ted, Marjorie and their baby boy, Loyd George, moved to San Diego. On December 28, 1944 Ted was assigned to the USS Daly as ship’s doctor. On January 23, 1945 at 1309 hours the Daly steamed from San Diego Bay enroute to Pearl Harbor Territory of Hawaii.
