Biography of John G. Cornwell

Waxahachie, Texas

First Lieutenant, United States Army Air Corps; Entered the Air Corps in June of 1942, and trained in Omaha, Nebraska, Stockton, California, and Roswell and Clovis, New Mexico, and served as pilot of a B-29 in India and on Tinian; Died on August 30, 1945 when B-29 crashed while delivering food and medicine to prisoner of war camps in Japan; Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Irvin Cornwell of Waxahachie; Awarded Air Medal and Presidential Citation.
